Welcome to photo-mao

Photo-Mao is a freelance photography studio founded by Bei Yue on February 25th Chongqing China 2004. ‘Mao’ means ‘kitty’ in Mandarin. This studio included other seven colleagues: XiaoYan, Xiuyi, Qing, Eight, Delia, Xiong, Tian tian.


Based on our interest of fabricated photography, we did almost 50 projects of fabricated photography since 2004. Our artworks pay main attention on the relationship between nymph Lesbian and moral social conception with a fashionable perspective. We keen to illustrate social pressures toward lesbian in China, such as pressures from family, school, moral measure. We would like to demonstrate painful memories in a pretty way. Bei Yue now study in London, UK. She carries on her photographic career in London. the other colleague continued those projects since 2007. Most of our artworks are linking nymph lesbian and nymph fashion. we started network with several local and national fashion magazines. They are: ELLE-Online china, VOGUE-Online china, Comic Generation, Single Carnival, Comic Fans, New line looks. 35 of our independent photo projects have been published until May 2008.
